Track your results!
You need to track how effective your promotions are!
Otherwise you will waste time on promotion that don't work,
and may miss the ones that would give you stellar results!
We'll cover this first so it becomes habit with all the other methods
we'll outline over the coming months together.
Tracking URL clicks:
1) To code links add a "?" and tracking code to your URL.
EXAMPLE:
http://www.linkpaks.com/index.html
http://www.linkpaks.com/index.html?Tracking_Code
They both open the same page;
they are recorded in the log files as separately!
2) You can also create separate pages for each promotion.
EXAMPLE:
http://www.YourDomain.com/index.html
http://www.YourDomain.com/indexezine1.html
Both the above require you look at your logs,
we'll cover Log files and log file analyzers in a later note.
3) Sign-up for the free service at ROIBot.
They give you 3 free redirected URLs and a tracking page!
Track the referring URL, number of clicks, browser type, domain etc.
EXAMPLE:
You put in:
http://www.YourDomain.com/test.html
And they give you a URL like: http://www.roibot.com/w.cgi?R1047_test
You then use this URL in your webpage, ads or eZine!
For free service click below :
http://www.roibot.com/r.cgi?R1047_campaign
And finally you can code your email by pre-filling them in
PREFILL A SUBJECT:

PRE-FILL THE BODY:
